Our Day in New York!!

So, many of you know I was able to go with my friend Michelle to Connecticut and New York City. Her family will be relocating to Connecticut, for GE, so we went on a house hunting mission. We spent the first day seeing the area and looking through houses. The first thing I learned about houses in Connecticut was that they are extremely expensive. I loved the area it was so pretty and had a small town feel (even though you are so close to huge cities). The next day we did a few houses in the morning and then headed into NEW YORK CITY. I was so excited, it had been about ten years since I had been there.

We took the train from Connecticut into Grand Central Station, in New York City. It was amazing how fast and easy it is to get into the city. Grand Central Station is also a very neat building to see. It had great architectural details.
When we got into the city we decided to first go see where the twin towers once were. We got on the subway and headed to that location. I was surprised by where the twin towers once stood. I thought NY would for sure have a big memorial at this location, I was shocked that they did not. They did have a very small museum but we did not go through it. I think in the future they will create a memorial, but I am surprised in almost seven years that they have not. I have included a picture of where the towers once stood.

Next was shopping in the city. Wow there are an amazing amount of stores in New York. Most of them way out of my shopping budget (actually all, considering we are living on a poor student budget). It was fun to see the neat things in all of the stores even if I could not buy anything. Here is a picture of downtown.

We were very lucky and were able to get Broadway show tickets for the very same day (not to mention half off). There is a place in the city where you are able to stand in line and buy tickets for shows, that have not sold out by 3pm, and you get them for half off. WE SCORED!! So we went to the show Legally Blonde it was a great show. It was really funny and the talent in the production was fantastic. This was a great time.

We wrapped up the night by going to the restaurant Serendipity. For those of you who have seen the movie then you know the restaurant. This was the cutest little restaurant. I got the famous Frozen Hot Chocolate and it was fabulous....Here are a couple of pictures.

Brook-

It's so nice that we can sort of get to know people before we actually move via blogging!zx

Thank you for your comments. I have tried Zofran and Fenergin and some other ones- unfortunately, nothing seems to be working. It's rough.

Anyway, thanks again. It's nice to know that other people have been through this and survived.

I'm excited to meet you! See you soon!
